S r e: Smart Charging System for E-bikes and E-cars

Increasing Electric Mobility and Tourism in Treviso

The S r e project aims to provide free electric recharge services for e-bikes and e-cars, promoting sustainable mobility and tourism in the hills of the province of Treviso. Designed by Roberto Pescarollo, this smart charging system offers convenience and accessibility to residents and visitors alike.

The S r e project was initiated by the Unione Montana delle Prealpi Trevigiane, with the support of the European Union through the Gal Altamarca trevigiana - Veneto region - PSL 2014 - 2020 program. The objective was to create public charging stations that cater to the needs of the local community, allowing them to charge their e-bikes, e-cars, and smartphones. The project also includes a user-friendly app for easy access and remote maintenance.

What sets the S r e charging system apart is its versatility and adaptability. The design features a vertical column made of fiberglass, ensuring durability and resistance to harsh weather conditions and vandalism. The horizontal bar and support are constructed using steel sheet, further enhancing the system's robustness. To ensure the safety of bicycles, an electromagnetic lock has been incorporated, which can be unlocked via the app.

The S r e charging system offers various customization options. It can be configured as a single-sided unit, accommodating 2 to 10 bicycles, or as a two-sided unit, capable of accommodating up to 40 bicycles. Additionally, the same column can be equipped with 1 or 2 sockets for charging e-cars. Ecospazio - Smart mobility division - Logiss srl is responsible for manufacturing, transportation, assembly, and remote maintenance of the S r e charging system.

The project's simplicity of use is a key focus. Clear instructions are provided on the system itself, as well as through the accompanying app. The S r e charging system can be easily adapted for bike sharing or customized for electric charging of e-cars, further promoting sustainable transportation options.

The S r e project was initiated in 2017 and completed in 2019 in the province of Treviso. The success of the initial phase has led to plans for the construction of an additional 12 S r e charging stations in 2020. The project has been well-received, contributing to the tourist attractiveness of the region and enhancing the overall quality of life for residents.

Roberto Pescarollo, along with architect Daniele Guerra, industrial technician Nicola Rosa, and producer Ecospazio - Logiss srl, collaborated to bring the S r e charging system to life. Extensive research was conducted on materials, electronics, electromechanics, and app development to ensure the system's efficiency and effectiveness. The patented bike block is compatible with all types of e-bikes, while the fiberglass column provides thermal and electrical insulation, superior waterproofing, and resistance to corrosion.

The S r e charging system has received recognition for its design and technical excellence. In 2019, it was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in the Product Engineering and Technical Design category. This prestigious award acknowledges the system's well-designed, practical, and innovative features that meet professional and industrial requirements, contributing to a better world.

With its commitment to sustainable mobility and innovative design, the S r e charging system is revolutionizing electric transportation in Treviso and setting a benchmark for similar projects worldwide.
